Dane turns 30!

---and gets TOYS?!

Can't you just hear the kids singing?!

From Myanna: a spiderman action figure (for him to play with Myanna)
From Jenn: Chocolate covered raisins (Dane's favorite) &
a Transformer's Motorcycle (trying to be an encouraging wife)
From Porter: candy cane hot cocoa (Stephen's - the best!)
From Debany: a 'Ken' doll (for him to play with Debany)
One of the great things about Dane's birthday--
is that it's on Canadian Thanksgiving!
So a great big feast for Dane's dinner --
and a special birthday cake for dessert!

Making a wish can be so hard!

Happy Birthday, Dane!
(uh hem, excuse me: Daddy)

Work for 3 Generations

Jack Frost Visits

I went to work early one morning and found this beautiful artwork done in ice on our vehicles!
Thought I'd share!

How Many Monkeys Can Sleep On the Couch?

Count with me -- ah ah ah ah ah!!!
1 -- (thunder sounds)
2 -- (thunder sounds)
3 -- (thunder sounds)
4 -- (thunder sounds)
ah ah ah ah ah!!
4! Yes, 4 monkeys can sleep on the couch!!!
ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!!

(think... Sesame Street.)

Musical Beds

Care for an evening of musical beds?!

Uhhh...

Guilty or not? You decide:

Our 'Spider Farm'

So for Halloween this year, we decided to raise a 'Spider Farm'...
Look at all of our little hatchlings!
I tell you, it sure is handy having a pest control technician in the home
-- looks pretty realistic, eh?!

And for fun, we made more pumpkin faces!

Pumpkin Carving '09

October is here!
...and we better get to the pumpkin carving before it's too late!
So, off to the backyard to pick our pumpkins!
Just for the fun of it, let's see what faces the kids can come up with!
Now to pull out the seeds... (yummy!)
What eewie-gooey fun!
Here we are bringing the pumpkins to life...

They li-i-i-i-ive!

Porter had to be part of the fun, too!
Of course, he didn't know it was going to be so gooey!

Porter found something else he could do though!
(That's our boy!)
We all sure enjoyed getting to have Grandma & Grandpa Gilson here for the fun!

The Kids

After our visit to the museum, we went for a walk.
These rocks were so perfect, I had to take some pictures.
They wouldn't be complete without silly faces!

Porter was wearing his patch!
What a good boy!
(Not so lucky for the pictures.)

happiness is new pictures!
(a million new pictures -- I better get to sorting!)

Thriller!!

Jenn's working for the city can come with some perks!

The Provo theater needed ushers for one of their performances. Jenn got an email, and both Dane & Jenn got to go... which means...
Date Night!!!
(or Date Afternoon - whatever you want to call it.)
It's a great production -- the dance studio where Debany gets her voice lessons put this on last year. Nothing but praise all around it. It's obviously a Halloween themed production...
the roaming zombies might have something to do with that!
Before the show, dancers from the show roam and scare patrons.
The dances were truly top notch. Many Halloween themes had the 'Edgar Allen Poe' touch to them. (A little freaky -- but hey, that's Halloween, right?!)
Best part -- (besides getting to watch amazing talent) --
FREE!
Volunteering can really pay off well in return!
-----
Does Odyssey Dance Theater sound familiar?
If you watch 'So You Think You Can Dance', you might remember Brandon, the runner up, was a big part of this group. That's the same dance studio that Debany gets her lessons from! It's kinda funny to go in and see all these posters of Brandon all over the wall because of all the support he got! It's a small world!

Timeless Tuesdays...

Pumpkin Carving..
... is timeless!

This is Debany -- 3 days shy of 1 year old.
She's helping us carve our pumpkins.
Ooooohh! Nice & scary!
A bonus picture...
Debany wanted to see the inside of the pumpkin.

(Whaaat! Don't look at me like that! You know you would've done it too! Look at her licking her fingers!)

updating...

I am currently upgrading my Mac, which in turn is updating my photos, which leaves me upstanding doing other things while I wait for it to upload. So please be patient as I recover from being upended from all of the information which has oppressed (up-pressed) my brain.

Jenn is now up-and-gone...

Timeless Tuesdays...

---A look at the past---

2004...
Rexburg, Idaho
Dane's 52nd birthday
ended up being his backwards 25th birthday!
The entrance was actually the exit!

Dane's cake says '52'

We invited friends with thank you cards
and they had to wear their clothes inside-out and backwards!
Friends also had nametags - their names spelled backwards!
This is Ynabed!
(And she wasn't 'in a bed' yet.
She got to stay up for the party.)

Friends are the best!
Can you believe that this was 5 years ago?!
Dane, it's time to say:
"Goodbye 20's... Hello 30's!!!"
