Surprise!

When I was cleaning up the extra bedroom, I found this!

It was truly a much appreciated surprise.
We were hoping that Hiroki had a fun time here.
This helped us ease our worries.

Thanks for coming, Hiroki!
Safe trip back to Japan.
We look forward to seeing you again soon, too.

Thank you.
Arigatou gozaimasu.

Hiroki & the Y

We promised Hiroki that we would take him to touch the "Y" on the mountainside.
So on the last day, we headed out that way - and the weather was cooperating!

And they're off!

Something happened and so I stayed at the start of the hike with Myanna...

...which was good because Debany and Porter were back soon after they took off.
Just a Dane and Hiroki hike today.

If you look at the bush in the middle of the picture on the right side of the 'Y', you can see a white hat.
That's Dane waving his cowboy hat from the top of the 'Y'!

We were there at sunset and it was gorgeous.
(I love taking pictures of sunsets -- sorry.
Scroll down if you'd like to see.)

Provo Canyon

Our Last Day with Hiroki

We drove up to Widow's Peak.
GORGEOUS views - basically the view from the Y without the hike.

I just LOVE the mountains here.

The Provo Temple -- soon to be 1 of 2 temples in Provo!

Utah Lake & Provo city with BYU

I think Dane's inner teenager is coming out because he had to do a superman pose...

And so did Hiroki!

And my girls just being super cute were so photo ready.

 Here we all are!

Doesn't this just make you want to close your eyes and feel the wind blow through the canyon?

Hello there, cowboy!

Ice Blocking

Where is the BEST place to go ice blocking??

Rock Canyon, of course!

What is ice blocking??
Well, you buy a big block of ice, put a towel on top, sit on it, and slide down a hill...

It's a GREAT family activity!

And we had to let Hiroki experience it. :)

Debany was hesitant at first, but warmed up to it.
(Of course she was more interested in talking with the other people there.)

See?!  She warmed up.  She's happy, really.

The views at this park are AMAZING!  Especially when it is overcast and a storm is on its way.

Cowboy Porter.

Well, sad, but ice blocking got real tiring having to hike back up the hill...

So, we tried rolling down it instead.
(I am definitely too old for this now.  I was so dizzy.  I laid there for a good 20 minutes after reaching the bottom!)

And then we flied a kite!

Though we didn't make it up to the "Y" today because of the storm coming through,
we had an awesome day at the park!  (Good thing mommy brought lots to do!)
