Our 'Free' Aquarium Trip

Cabela's in Lehi, Utah
TONS of stuffed animals - the real kind.
We got to feed the fish!
And enjoy their COOL aquarium of local fish!
Wow!  Those fish are HUGE!

It's so easy...

We tend to take things for granted...
We forget how blessed we are until we find another who has a harder time doing something we find so easy.

This is Porter using his right hand.  It's a miracle!
He has such a hard time remembering he has two hands.
Today, if you are right-handed, open something
using just your left hand.
"It's so easy."

ANOTHER Loose Tooth!!!

Saturday, February 21, 2009
Debany comes up to Dane and I this morning and says, "Guess what! I have another loose tooth!"  And sure enough, it WAS!  We immediately began to sing a familiar song - "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth."  And that has been our theme song all day so far!

Any guesses on when THIS one will come out?!
Leave a comment soon!  Before it happens!

(Maybe there'll be a nice surprise for the closest.)

Wrecking Ball Poetry

(Jenn's Poem for Dane when he came home from work.)

The house is a wreck!
What the heck?!
Whatever shall I do?
Can no one tell that this is where
Someone had the flu?!

Guests have come,
Some dishes are done.
The paper ones will just get thrown.
Toys are scattered,
Like nothing mattered.
And several movies lie in piles that have grown.

How do I ever get to sleep?!
(It lies in just how long I weep.)
The grossest task won't be the sweep,
But in the cleanliness - will it keep?

So, now I lay and await the task
---My heart, please, just don't fret.
And pray that tomorrow no one will ask -
"Just how far gone has this been let?"

Tomorrow, we'll take a photo
And post it above the Family Motto.
For a Kodak moment will be our grotto
Once it's been cleaned and Mom put on 'Auto'.

---Jenn

Tickling the Funny Bone...

What is it that makes us laugh?!

"Laughing is like inner jogging."
Have you had your exercise today?!

Our Snow Bunny

Without fail, if there is snow, there is Myanna.
We just can't keep her out of it!

Our little snow bunny!

Our Debany's Toothless Grin

When we were at Porter's Opthamology appointment,
Debany's squeal and shocked expression declared that her tooth had finally fallen out!
So we stored it safely for our long trip home.
In fact, earlier that day, Debany and I had a guess match - I thought it'd come out on Sunday (in 3 days), and Debany said that today was the day!
And it was!

You can even see the new tooth coming in underneath!
So, I continued my quest to be ready for the Tooth Fairy.
A little internet searching later, I found the perfect solution
(that I'd been searching for over a week for) - Debany's Tooth Pillow.
How would the tooth fairy find that tooth if we just laid it under the pillow?!
It was so little!
So, she put her tooth in the pocket, placed the 'pillow' under her pillow, and tried to calm down as she thought about what was going to happen tonight.

The cutest part was when I was tucking her into bed and she asked me to straighten her blankets so that she'd look nice for when the tooth fairy came.  I did, and gave her a kiss on the forehead.  I love that girl!

The excitement was tantamount to Christmas that morning
when she found she had not only gotten the penny that she asked for,
but 4 more!  A total of 5!!!
And a Certificate of Debany's first lost tooth.
The tooth fairy has an amazing bag to carry everything in!

Congratulations, Debany!

Love in All Forms

This Valentine's Day,
we decided to treat the family with a feast we are fond of
that took on a new shape...

Happy Heart Day!

The BIG Top...

After the kids watched 'Dumbo' today, I surprised them and said, "Okay, it's time to get ready to go to the Circus!"
After they wiped their surprised looks off... they quickly scrambled to get ready to go.  They kept asking, "Really?!  We're going to the Circus?  A REAL Circus?!"

I thought this was so cute.  The girls kept saying it was just like Dumbo and his mom.  Too cute.
Debany and Myanna were right up in the front!
Yes, these are pink and blue dogs.  Don't ask me.
Debany's favorite part was the rope twirlers.
Myanna's was getting to ride on the elephant (and getting to pet the elephant).

May I Have This Dance?

Jenn was playing music, so, naturally, the girls began to dance.  After a few minutes, Dane comes down and is finishing off his dinner when Debany surprises him and asks him to dance.
So, there was a lot of cutting in.

And then it was Mommy & Daddy's turn.  Debany was a great coach.  "Okay, now... kiss. -- Good, I got that one!"
"Dancing (mostly) barefoot in the kitchen."

See what I can do!!!

"Mom & Dad just figured out that I have some balance!
Check this action out!
Hands off, you guys, this is hot stuff!!!"

"I'm on the road to Independence! That's in Texas, right?
Anyways, here I come!" --- Porter

"She Does Hair"

Okay, so I've been needing some new ideas with the girls' hair. And my friend 'saved' me! She recommended this blog -- http://shedoeshair.blogspot.com/
So, I thought I'd send this on in case any of you are in the same need! Have fun!
And here are some of the things I've done with the girls!

Taxing 3 of the 4 Limbs

So, you'd think that one cast would be enough!

Friday morning, Porter and I walked down the street to Northwest Orthotics & Prosthetics.  (I like living in town when occasions like this arrise!) We were back home (walking and all) within 30 minutes!  We got his hand brace (for extending his thumb) and his foot brace (for stretching his calves - since they like to lock out when he stands).  They are both for the night and nap time.

Debany's First Loose Tooth

The other day, Debany bit down on something like peanut.  Afterwards, she said that the peanut hurt her tooth.  I didn't think anything of it - I just told her to keep and eye on it, but it'll get better.  And to brush her teeth.
Saturday, January 31st, when Debany went down for quiet time, she told me that her tooth was loose... and it sure was.  When I told her that her baby tooth was loose and it was going to fall out, she started jumping up and down with excitement.
And she even remembered that the Tooth Fairy will take her tooth and replace it with something special. When Dane and I asked her what she wanted from the tooth fairy (we were being discreet in not suggesting at anything specific), she can't wait to get her "penny".  Yes, ONE penny.... penny!  Dane and I were excited, too!  We'll have to see if the tooth fairy can squeeze that one out of her budget!
She's been waiting for this for a long time.  She's been asking when her baby teeth are going to fall out for over a year now.  The day is about here!
