The house is a wreck!
What the heck?!
Whatever shall I do?
Can no one tell that this is where
Someone had the flu?!
Guests have come,
Some dishes are done.
The paper ones will just get thrown.
Toys are scattered,
Like nothing mattered.
And several movies lie in piles that have grown.
How do I ever get to sleep?!
(It lies in just how long I weep.)
The grossest task won't be the sweep,
But in the cleanliness - will it keep?
So, now I lay and await the task
---My heart, please, just don't fret.
And pray that tomorrow no one will ask -
"Just how far gone has this been let?"
Tomorrow, we'll take a photo
And post it above the Family Motto.
For a Kodak moment will be our grotto
Once it's been cleaned and Mom put on 'Auto'.
