Dirt + Water = ???

---Dirt---

~~~~MUD!!!~~~~
(Mud is fun, Mommy!!!)
(Look Mommy!  It's like painting!)
(Wait... Let me put on my make-up.
--- Porter's is war paint.  He's disguised as rain.)
And voila!  The creature from the Black Lagoon!
(Simple pleasures.  Gotta love them!)
The Gilson Garden - 2009
We have a garden.
And there's plenty of worms.
BIG ones, too!
(Daddy's getting excited about fishing!)
Everyone's getting involved in our garden...
... especially Porter.
(A big step for this kid who doesn't like textures or being dirty.)
Slaving away in the sun -- sweat and tears went into our garden.
(Porter learning from his daddy.)
We planted our corn and laid down some netting to keep the quail and other birds away.
(We're learning from last year's tenants' experience.)
Looks like the survivors have poked through.
(Time to take off the nets.)
More ground is turned and more seeds on the way.
The long view of our garden.
(Jenn's hands are sore by just looking at all the dirt to till.  I see blisters for days!)
Dirt + Water = MUD!!!
(Mud Pies!  What fun!)
Corn as high as an elephant's eye...
(... well, when Myanna's stuffed elephant is laying on it's side out in the garden.)
Well, there it is!  We'll keep you posted as all of our plants grow!
Brick Oven Pizza Party
On Myanna's Birthday, we went to Daddy's work...
Brick Oven Pizza!
Where Myanna got a free dinner...
...And a lollipop sundae!
(root beer lollipop!)
---She even shared a little bit.---
Myanna's encore singers... she got a kick out of it!  She was so cute!  She told EVERYBODY it was her birthday!
A Fairy 4th Birthday
Saturday brought out the Pretty Pink Pixies in our little girlies!
Homemade fairy wings, wands, and skirts.
And don't forget the pink hair & glittery pixie dust!!!
(Too fun!!)
Porter, too, played his part as our little Imp!
('You should've seen Daddy!')
Once Myanna's little Fairy Friends arrived, the festivities began:
Musical Fairy Wands, Pin the Wings on the Fairy (colored by our guests), the Fairy Princess' Dress, and Face Painting.
(Along with a steady stream of magical bubbles filling our Pixie Hollow Backyard.)
One of Myanna's new gifts adorned her amazing Fairy Cake!
(A perfect home for our little fairies!
-- It's a tree stump. *wink wink*)
"Make a Wish!"
Toward the end, our little Pixie was pooped!
What a fun-filled day for our little Pink Pixie!
Time for a little Fairy Spell with Daddy.
4! 4! 4! 4!
Hooray!
Jenn's Exercise Ball Class!
Go Jenn!
New Missionary to 'Hop the Fence'
We had a missionary farewell in our ward. When the father introduced his son at the farewell, he said, "... so this is his last home gathering before he hops the fence."
Basically.
Here is our ward building (the white building), there is the MTC (the brown building)...
And there's the fence inbetween the two.
Welcome to Utah!
P.S. That puts the Provo Temple just down the street!
Grandpa Wessel's Legacy
'Grandpa, I will help the harmonica live on and on, forever.'
--- Us, Gilson Kids
"A Penguin!"
Myanna looked outside in our back yard and saw this bird. "Look Mom, a Penguin!"
Well, Honey, it's actually a Black-Billed Magpie.
But close!  She had the black and white part right.
Nice try, Baby Doll!
Porter's turns 2!
With special presents from Gma Debi & Aunt Sarah,
Porter celebrated his 2nd birthday!
ANYTHING with wheels...
Well, actually, it doesn't even have to have wheels for him to make it a car.
(His latest craze!)
Porter's MRI -- May 1st, 2009
What better way to say, "Happy Birthday" than to get put under for an MRI, right?!
Well, here's how this 2 year old spent his day -- kind of a memorial of the day he arrived.
(Or maybe even a little dejavu -- like I've been here; about 18 months ago...)
Follow this LINK to Porter's posts on how his MRI went.
*****Be sure to note that the top post is the last of 4 posts of how his MRI went.*****
Hot Air Balloon in the Sky
Just the other day, I saw a hot air balloon in the sky.
It was early in the morning.
This is one was up just last week.
This wasn't the first time we saw one!
This one was a up few months ago.
They are different.
The view from our house.
On Wednesday, May 6th, I was driving home from work and the hot air balloon was up again! And no matter how I tried to find my camera, I couldn't.  But it was RIGHT outside our window, low to the ground over the creek just kitty-corner from our house.  I've never seen one so close before.  I've got a feeling this won't be the last time, so next time... I'll be prepared!
Rockin' Out with Daddy
It started with Porter bouncing on his horse.  And then...
He saw it.
... the other guitar.
Back to my horse!
Yeah!!!  Rock out!
Rockin' out with Daddy!
How Long Will This Last???
I was organizing the closet when the girls asked
if they could be put up high on the shelves.
'I could,' I thought.  'I'm working though, and I want to get this done...'
'But how long will it last?  Soon they'll be too big to even fit in that space!
And by then, they won't even want to anymore.
Soooo...'
"You bet! Come here you silly kids!"
"Have fun!"
She Sleeps Anywhere...
This is Myanna.  She sleeps anywhere.
Yes, this is the bathtub.  And she's sleeping in the ledge.
--- Background:  I put the kids down for quiet time.  Myanna had a hard time being quiet, so I told her that if she couldn't be quiet in a nice comfortable place, she can sleep in the bathtub and be quiet in a not so comfortable place.  She disliked being in the tub so much that she laid on the ledge of the tub... and fell asleep.  ---
The girl can sleep ANYWHERE!
Here are a few more pictures of what I'm talking about:
"Apple" Blossom Special
I dedicate this post to all of the apple blossoms in our backyard...
Sweet apple blossoms, you fill our yard with the scent of spring.
And you bring promises of apples later this summer.
Amazing what such beauty can bring.
------------------------------
Okay... 2nd part of this dedication:
I confess, this song below is called, "Orange Blossom Special."
But you still get the idea.
I just had to add it to this dedication
Because I love this fiddle song soooo much
and you just have to add it because of the name.
(And I know it's about a train.)
Enjoy!
