It seems to be a common occurrence to walk out our door and smell smoke.
What a summer?!
So many fires... and they're still not done.
The military base just up the road from us had a bolt of lightning strike some of its land.
We watched the storm go through, biting our nails with each bolt of lightning we saw.
The plume was different this time.
It went straight up - and was beautiful (and scary) all at the same time.
Scary, because you have to know how much is burning to make that much smoke.
This one looked like a face poking out of the clouds.
It seriously looked like an atomic bomb had gone off.
(military base... hmmm... )
